As part of our event week for the International Day against Police Violence, we invite you to the film "Dear Future Children" on March 17 at 6:00 pm at the Thalia Dresden.
Dear Future Children is a documentary film that shows the everyday life of 3 activists. The film tells about the challenges and motivations of activism in order to recognize the different motivations of the activists and also looks at the modern organization of protest movements.
The project accompanies activists at protests in Hong Kong against the Beijing-affiliated administration under Carrie Lam, protests in Chile against social inequality in the country there, in Uganda, at the Fridays for Future protests there for climate justice, as well as at the 2019 C40 World Mayors Summit in Copenhagen, among others. In the context of the protests, the activists and their social movements experience repression and police violence, which are exercised by the police in different dimensions.
