Survey on experiences with violence by police and judiciary
Deutschland Polizei Polizeigewalt
Survey about police violence
On June 1, 2022, the nationwide survey on the experiences of victims of right-wing, racist, and antisemitic and sexualized violence with contact to investigative and prosecuting authorities started.
The study will be held from June 1 to July 31, 2022.
If you yourself have had an experience with the police, public prosecutor's office or courts, you can take part in the online survey. By doing so, you will help to collect data on this topic and to make more precise statements about the behavior of the police and the experiences of those affected. The survey is anonymous, which means that the answers cannot be traced back to you.
The study is being conducted by the Jena Institute for Democracy and Civil Society (IDZ) in cooperation with the Thuringian victim counseling center ezra and the nationwide association of counseling centers for victims of right-wing, racist and anti-Semitic violence (VBRG e.V.). The results of the study will be published in a brochure as well as in the form of specialized presentations.
It is important that scientific studies are carried out on this topic, as the study situation and scientific findings in this area are limited so far and more light needs to be brought into the issues of police misconduct and police violence.
To make access as barrier-free as possible, the online questionnaire is available in ten languages:
German, French, English, Kurdish, Vietnamese, Serbian, Arabic, Persian, Tigrinya and Turkish.
