In 2020, the Cooperation Against Police Violence Saxony was founded in Dresden. As a reaction to police violence, which was repeatedly reported globally in 2020, but also very close to us. We do not want to continue to stand idly by in the face of racial profiling, other discriminatory controls, assaults and murder by the police.
In this article, we have compiled statistics on reported cases of assault in office in Saxony. These cases are rarely followed up. For example, of the 308 police officers who were reported for assault in office in 2019, only one was convicted. In 2020, the situation was no different, and the number of unreported cases is probably much higher!
Help us keep our counselling space, a quiet and safe place. A place where people affected by police violence can turn to.
There we provide counselling to people who have experienced violence by the police or have witnessed police misconduct, as needed. Be it with media publicity, a place to talk or the mediation of further counselling. The offer is made possible anonymously and is based on the wishes of those affected.
We need 3960€. You can find our GoFundMe campaign here.
