Come to the demo in Dresden on #15MRZ: 17:30 @Alaunpark!

Last year alone, police violence in Germany escalated to the point that four people were murdered within just one week. Despite this, there is talk about further arming of police officers. The causes of the violence are not discussed.

But police behavior is not only a problem in Germany. All over the world people experience violence and repression by the police. Both in the context of Russia's invasion of Ukraine and the suppression of protest in Russia, in the protests against the regime in Iran and in the anti-zero-covid protests in China, the police played a central role and exercised massive violence against people. This shows that the police system and state repression are closely related.

For these reasons, we continue to fight and call on you to participate in the International Day Against Police Violence.

In recent years, the technology by which people can be monitored further and further has been developed greatly. The surveillance possibilities by means of video surveillance, wiretapping and positioning technology in combination with Big Data and artificial intelligence create many new possibilities and powers for the police. Also through the new police laws, which have been passed in different federal states in the last few years, the police are granted many powers that invade far into the privacy of individual people.
The film shows how the progressive development of technology can profoundly change our society and what the implications are.
